3. Larry Fedora

Larry Fedora has quickly turned the North Carolina Tar Heels into a respectable football program. It may have taken a few seasons, but now the Tar Heels are 4-1 and have been playing at an exceptionally high level since losing the season opener against Georgia.

The rebuilding process finally paid off last season when the Tar Heels went 11-3, including a perfect 8-0 in the conference before falling to Clemson in a thrilling ACC Championship game. Now, the Tar Heels are looking like the best team in the ACC Coastal division once again.

Perhaps the most impressive stat regarding Fedora this season has been the efficiency of his quarterback, Mitch Trubisky. The junior QB is completing a ridiculous 76 percent of his passes, and while Trubisky deserves some love, a lot of that has been the excellent play calling of Fedora and his coaching staff.

Even though UNC signed Fedora to an extension through 2022, he’s going to be a hot head coach candidate for some of the biggest programs in college football this offseason. Schools like LSU will probably be giving him a call, and so should the Longhorns.
