You can look at Deshaun Watson’s interception numbers through five games and disagree with him on this list, but the Clemson quarterback is just a winner. Over the last two seasons, he has compiled a 19-1 record as the starter, leading the Tigers to the national title game a year ago before losing to Alabama.

This season, his Clemson Tigers got off to a sluggish start and he was looking like a slumping quarterback. He barely completed over 50 percent of his passes with four touchdowns and three interceptions against Troy and Auburn to start the year and panic mode set in for the fans.

Since then, he has been lights out and Clemson has raced out to a 5-0 start. Over the last three games, he has passed for 762 yards with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions, completing over 65 percent of his passes.

Watson faced his toughest game of the season on Saturday against the third-ranked Louisville Cardinals at home and had a heck of a game, passing for 306 yards with five touchdowns and three picks while rushing for another 91 yards.

No. 5 on the watch list is deserved.
