1. Always a Duck (September 24, 2016)

Look, what is new is always going to feel like the coolest and freshest piece of apparel. But when you get down to it, the logical final progression of Oregon’s position at the vanguard of innovative uniform design was inevitably to turn every one of their players into representations of the iconic school mascot. Though the Ducks lost their debut in these uniforms, Oregon succeeded in turning themselves into avatars reminiscent of EA Sports’ mascot mode on their old NCAA Football franchise.

The sparkle-flecked white helmets featured orange-billed facemasks. The green jerseys included the two yellow stripes on the sleeves, while the yellow numbers down the back imitated the kerchief tied around The Duck’s neck. The white pants and orange socks (and cleats for many players) mimicked the webbed feet of The Duck. While Oregon suffered its first two-game losing stream in nearly a decade on this uniform’s debut at home against Colorado in 2016, it should remain a regular part of its rotation moving forward.
