Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 5: The conference has a new king
I guess that Utah did not take Cal serious enough after they showed they could beat #11 Texas earlier in the year because they fell to the same fate.
Not the kind of game Utah wanted to have with this up and down California Golden Bears team. It has been an interesting season for Cal as they have shown the ability to beat #11 Texas but then go on to lose games to San Diego State and Arizona State then beating #18 Utah last week. Maybe they should just play ranked teams from here on out.
This game against the Utah Utes came down to the first half and its differing quarters. Cal jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first, but Utah came alive in the second quarter and put up 10 points of their own to finalize the first half 14-10.
Utah did have a chance to take the lead at the end of the fourth quarter and trailing 28-23, the Utes drove the ball down to Cal’s two-yard line. The Utes were shut down in four straight plays, therefore, had to turnover the ball on downs and ending the game.
Utah will now take on Arizona at home then on the road against Arizona State.
Next: Number 4. Colorado
