College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 6
By Zach Bigalke
Hurricane Matthew’s arrival on the eastern seaboard of the United States left Florida little choice but to postpone their matchup against LSU this weekend. It has raised quite a stir, as the two teams might not be able to reschedule the game. Tennessee coach Butch Jones and Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin have both come out saying that a failure to reschedule would cause unfairness in the SEC standings, but the two schools lack a common open date.
Without an open date, it becomes trickier to fit the game into the schedule. November 19 was floated by Florida, which plays FCS Presbyterian College that day, but LSU balked at getting out of its game with South Alabama that day. But while it remains to be seen what will happen with Florida (and LSU) in terms of how they are evaluated in the SEC standings, the Gators won’t be dinged in the Top 25 by the pollsters this week for a meteorological situation that was completely out of their control.
