There is no shame in falling to defending national champion Alabama. While it probably ruins the Razorbacks’ chances of contending in the SEC West this season, they should remain in the Top 25 this week when the poll comes out on Monday. Austin Allen did his best to keep Arkansas in the game, but his 400 passing yards were negated by six sacks and three interceptions. The running game was never able to get going, gaining just 2.0 yards per carry against the stout Tide defense. And the Razorback defense gave up over 500 total yards of offense to Lane Kiffin’s unit.

Bret Bielema must make sure his team is ready to rebound next weekend when Ole Miss comes to Fayetteville. Arkansas then heads to take on rising Auburn on the Plains before getting their first break of the season. The Razorbacks play Florida and LSU at home to begin November before traveling to Mississippi State and Missouri at the end of the season. There are a lot of toss-up games on their schedule, and if Arkansas is going to stake a spot high up the standings in a stacked SEC West they will have to come up with wins in the majority of those contests.
