A horrible game against Auburn was followed up by a double overtime loss to the BYU Cougars in Provo, Utah for Mississippi State on Friday night.

While Mississippi State fared better than most might have thought, they just did not have enough to get past the Cougars. The Bulldog defense, which had played well for most of the night, was effectively worn down by Taysom Hill and the BYU offense as the game went on. Once overtime hit, the Bulldog defense was gassed. Nick Fitzgerald ran the offense well to start the game, eventually BYU made the proper adjustments and kept the Bulldogs out of the endzone when they needed to.

Mississippi State is getting dangerously close to not making a bowl game this season, somethings gotta give if the Bulldogs are to make anything of their 2016 season.
