6. Penn State

Week 7 result – DNP

Penn State didn’t play in Week 7, but took full advantage of sloppy play from the rest of the Big Ten. With Michigan State, Indiana, and Maryland all losing, the Nittany Lions were able to take a major leap in the power rankings.

After starting very slow, Penn State has began to show glimpses of light this season. They have two, possibly three, tough games remaining this year. Games against Indiana and Iowa will be key wins when it comes to which bowl they’ll make.

Next week against Ohio State, the Nittany Lions NEED to at least keep it close. A loss like Rutgers took against Michigan will be a significant blow to their season.
