ESPN College GameDay Week 8 live stream: Watch online
By Tim Kaiser
Here’s how to stream ESPN’s College GameDay as Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso and the rest of the gang roll into Tuscaloosa for Week 8.
Some weeks you can have a lively debate over where the gold standard in college football pregame shows should set up shop. Other weeks there is really only one choice. For Week 8, College GameDay will be broadcasting in Tuscaloosa ahead of the pivotal SEC West game between No. 6 Texas A&M and No. 1 Alabama.
For a team that has been as good as the Crimson Tide, it is a little surprising this is the first time they will be featured on GameDay this season. Tuscaloosa hosted College GameDay twice last season. Alabama was also a part of two neutral site games that opened and closed GameDay’s season. This will be the second Texas A&M game in three weeks College GameDay has been at.
Lee Corso took the Aggies and hung out with Reveille when they played Tennessee. Texas A&M proved him right. Corso has picked against Alabama the last two times he has had the option with his headgear selection. At last year’s National Championship, he put on the Clemson Tiger head, and last November, he chose the LSU version.
In a surprisingly classy move in the cliquey and petty world of sports media, the powers that be allowed for a crossover that will be pretty cool for fans. SEC on CBS’s lead play-by-play man and legendary broadcaster, Verne Lundquist, will be the celebrity guest picker on the ESPN pregame show. It’s a fitting sendoff for Lundquist as he finishes up his final season. Lundquist will probably refrain from making a pick on the big game as Herbstreit does when ABC is broadcasting the featured game on GameDay. However, it will be a great moment to see Lundquist sitting beside Corso as he makes his headgear selection — two men who have been synonymous with college football for decades.
