Oklahoma State kept in striking distance of the Big 12 leaders and likely played their way into the AP Top 25 with a 44-20 win over Kansas on Saturday. Freshman running back Justice Hill averaged over seven yards a carry to finish with 162 yards and a touchdown. Mason Rudolph completed two-thirds of his passes for 220 yards and a touchdown. And while Oklahoma State allowed Kansas to rack up more than 450 yards of total offense, the Cowboys defense also forced three turnovers, bending but not breaking for most of the day in Lawrence.

After losing two of their first four games, including the controversial finish against Central Michigan, Oklahoma State has won three straight in conference play. The Pokes still play two of the three teams ahead of them in the standings, beginning with a home game against West Virginia next weekend. Three of OSU’s last four games are on the road, with trips to Kansas State, TCU, and Oklahoma looming on the schedule. An early home finale for 2016 takes place against Texas Tech on November 12. If Mike Gundy’s team can run the table against this competition, they could earn a New Year’s Six berth.
