It was too bad that we didn’t get to see Jamaal Williams play against the Boise State Broncos this past weekend. The BYU Cougars nearly pulled off the upset but fell 28-27, and Williams could have been the difference in that game.

Despite Williams not playing this past week, he still ranks fourth in the nation in rushing with 942 yards in seven games to go along with 10 touchdowns on the ground. His biggest game came against Toledo in late September when he went off for 286 yards and five TDs.

Coming back from a season-ending injury and then a year away from the BYU program has seemed to reenergize Williams. Even though he won’t get the national recognition of players at bigger programs, a strong finish to this season could help Williams make a case to wind up on an NFL roster after his senior year.
