College Football Running Back Power Rankings: Week 9
By Tyler Brooke
I’m tempted to move Trayveon Williams higher up on this list. However, when you run for just 23 yards on nine carries against the Alabama Crimson Tide, that’s not going to help your case as the best running back in college football.
Still, it’s hard to blame a true freshman for struggling against the most dominant team in college football. Prior to that game, Williams had been on a tear with 595 yards and five touchdowns over a four-game stretch.
We expect Williams to get more touches as the season winds down, and considering what we’ve seen in previous weeks, he could be ready for another breakout performance against New Mexico State on Saturday.
