Western Michigan just keeps churning along, moving to 8-0 on the season after a two-touchdown win over Eastern Michigan on Saturday. The Broncos got a big game from quarterback Zach Terrell, who competed over 80 percent of his passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns. Jarvion Franklin added 114 yards and a touchdown on the ground, while Jamauri Bogan offered a goal-line change of pace with two rushing scores of his own. EMU racked up 461 yards in the losing effort, but the Broncos defense also came through with two turnovers on the day.
The only thing standing between Western Michigan and 13-0 is the regular-season finale against Toledo on Thanksgiving weekend. The Broncos have next weekend off before kicking off Tuesday-night #MACtion at Ball State on November 1. P.J. Fleck’s team then turns around for another Tuesday game on the road against Kent State. They get an extended 11-day break before hosting Buffalo. Then the Rockets come to Kalamazoo for the Black Friday showdown to decide the division. Should they make it to the MAC championship in Detroit, WMU will be heavily favored against whoever finally emerges from the East.
