I am now completely out of words when it comes to describing Louisville’s quarterback Lamar Jackson. It is absolutely unreal the kind of numbers this guy continues to put up week after week.

On Saturday jackson threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns, completing 20 of his 34 passes. He also ran for another 76 yards and a touchdown in their 54-13 win against NC State. Remember this is the same NC State team that lost in overtime at Clemson. Is there any team that can stop this man? Correction, is there any team that can slow down this man?

Let me remind you that all four of his touchdowns came in the first half.

Jackson’s most impressive stat of the day for me was zero interceptions. That is now back to back weeks without an interception, after throwing for one in four straight games.

This Louisville offense continues to smack defenses in the mouth with big plays down the field. On Saturday, the Cardinals had five different players account for 30 yards or more in a single play. That’s the key to this Louisville team; big plays down the field. We have yet to see an opponent limit those big plays, and if they do it could frustrate Jackson and the offense just a bit.

But what are Louisville fans most pleased about after the weekend? Ohio State’s loss at Penn State.

The Cardinals, who lost at Clemson, needed another team to lose as they hope to get in the College Football Playoff, especially with their only marquee matchup left on their schedule, Houston, stumbling of late. They now have Penn State to thank.

At the moment it’s hard to think that this Louisville team won’t find themselves in the College Football Playoff at the end of the year, but their is still plenty of time for things to take place. One more loss and Louisville is in big trouble, but if you look at their schedule right now who do you think will beat them? Maybe Houston? And that is a reach.
