Washington went on the road to Berkeley late on Saturday night, and through the first quarter the Huskies had already racked up three touchdowns. California was keeping pace with Chris Petersen’s team through the first 15 minutes, but projecting forward we expect that Washington will remain in the top four of the Top 25 rankings when they are released in the morning.

Washington got a big boost from Mississippi State, thanks to the Bulldogs’ upset of Texas A&M. While they have already been there in the AP Top 25, the Huskies are certain to jump into the top four of the CFP rankings this week when the committee deliberates again. They aren’t likely to climb any higher, given the national estimation of the Pac-12 against the SEC, Big Ten, and ACC, but as long as they win out and win the conference they will be assured a spot in the playoff semifinals.
