College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
After returning to the AP Top 25 last week, Oklahoma State will hang on to its spot in the poll this week after surviving an upset scare at Kansas State. The Cowboys held a tenuous 21-16 lead at the intermission, and the Wildcats were in the lead for much of the second half. But a go-ahead touchdown in the final two minutes put the Pokes ahead, and Jordan Sterns sealed the win for Oklahoma State with an interception of Jesse Ertz on a Hail Mary play as time expired.
Last week the Cowboys were ranked 22nd in the AP poll but all the way up at 18th in the first CFP rankings of the year. The playoff committee seemed to toss aside the Central Michigan loss as an aberration, and saw Oklahoma State essentially as a team in the hunt for the Big 12 title. After this close call, the two are likely going to meet somewhere in the middle. The victory, coupled with other results, will probably bump Oklahoma State a few spots, while the CFP committee might drop them a spot.
