ACC Football: Week 10 Power Rankings
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets drop a spot in this week’s power rankings after surrendering over 600 yards of offense to the Tar Heels. Quarterback Justin Thomas left late in the third quarter and things fell apart for the Yellow Jackets thereafter.
The Yellow Jackets defense allowed 26 first downs, 636 total yards, including 283 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. It snaps a two-game winning streak Georgia Tech used to show its growth. With this loss, it exposed a very bad defensive team.
They surrendered the most rushing yards and passing yards all season despite gaining 518 yards on offense. Their 334 rushing yards were their second most productive output since putting up 341 rushing yards last week against Duke.
In Week Nine, both units took major steps back. The loss puts the Yellow Jackets at 2-4 in ACC play.
This Week: @Virginia Tech
The Yellow Jackets face the Hokies this week in what should be another interesting ACC matchup. The last four meetings between these two teams has been decided by seven points or less.
