The Syracuse Orange drop a spot after being shut out last week at Clemson 54-0. The Orange were without quarterback Eric Dungey when he was injured after a hard hit in the first quarter.

After that, the Tigers defense overwhelmed the Orange offense even more. The Tigers forced three interceptions including a 64-yard pick six by freshman safety Tanner Muse. The Orange were down 30-0 at halftime.

They managed to gain 15 first downs, converted five of 16 third down conversions while amassing 277 total yards of offense. For reference, the Orange offense averaged over 500 yards of offense coming into the game.

It wasn’t a good day for the Orange facing the second-ranked team in the nation last week.

This Week: NC State

The Orange face the NC State Wolfpack this week after snapping a two-game winning streak last week. Syracuse still has bowl hopes on their mind with games still to be played against Florida State and Pittsburgh as well.
