Tennessee Volunteers

Tennessee 55-Tennessee Tech 0

This is exactly what the Tennessee Volunteers needed. After enduring a three-game skid that saw the Volunteers go from title contenders to after thoughts, the Vols got an easy win. It also didn’t hurt that this easy of a game came after news that Jalen Hurd was going to be leaving the program. An SEC football fan with his own show on YouTube even identified him as the ‘baby of the week’. It’s hard to argue with that.

Impact Moving Forward

-Refocused Tennessee Volunteers

Although a drubbing of Tennessee Tech can’t count for much, many SEC football teams have struggled to put away inferior competition this year. That wasn’t the case for Tennessee, though, and the Vols were able to rest a ton of players as a result. It will be interesting to see how Butch Jones’ team wraps up their season, as many of their preseason goals are now unachievable.

There isn’t another game on the schedule that Tennessee can’t win, but Vanderbilt and Kentucky are much more formidable than we originally thought.
