Vanderbilt Commodores

Vanderbilt 16-Auburn 23

Vanderbilt continued to impress, but fell short against Auburn this weekend. The Commodores could have used this game if Derek Mason wants to get a bowl game. Vanderbilt now sits at 4-5 with games against Missouri, Ole Miss and Tennessee remaining.   All 3 appear like winnable games, but it is unlikely Vanderbilt will be favored in any of those games.

The Vanderbilt Commodores likely just lost their chance at a bowl.

Impact Moving Forward

-Disappointment for fans and players

The Commodores had a chance to move to 5-4, but instead sit at 4-5. Derek Mason saved his job by defeating Georgia and just having Vanderbilt in the bowl conversation. While it won’t end the way many Vandy fans began hoping for, there has been consistent improvement from this Vanderbilt team. Don’t be surprised if Mason makes Vandy a bowl contender, and possibly even a little more.

Actually, we still can’t count out Vanderbilt for a bowl this season.
