College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 11
By Zach Bigalke
Against a Baylor team that managed to cling to a Top 25 spot after losing two straight, Oklahoma solidified its position atop the Big 12 with a 45-24 victory over the Bears. Though the visitors gained over 500 yards of offense against the Sooners, they also coughed up two interceptions and a fumble to derail their upset chances. Baker Mayfield was efficient, completing 80 percent of his passes for 300 yards and two touchdowns, while both Joe Mixon and Samaje Perine rushed for over 100 yards apiece.
As a result, Oklahoma easily handled the first of a trio of tests to end its regular season. The Sooners head to Morgantown next weekend for a showdown with fellow Big 12 contender West Virginia. If they get past that test, the Bedlam game against rival Oklahoma State will serve as a Big 12 title game. Whether that translates to a College Football Playoff semifinal invite, though, depends both on what happens in the other Power Five conferences as well as how the CFP committee perceives their season-opening loss to Houston.
