College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 13
By Zach Bigalke
Ohio State managed to fend off rival Michigan on Saturday, getting a 15-yard touchdown run from Curtis Samuel to win 30-27 in double overtime. The winning score came one play after converting a 4th and 1, and it also came after the Buckeyes had clawed back from a 17-7 deficit in the second half to force extra play. J.T. Barrett ran for more yards than he tossed as he completed fewer than half of his passes. The OSU defense forced three turnovers and held the Wolverines to just 310 total yards on offense to pace the win.
The Buckeyes miss out on a shot to play for the Big Ten championship after Penn State beat Michigan State later on Saturday, though it probably won’t affect their chances at reaching the College Football Playoff. Ohio State will remain at second in the AP Top 25 this week and should be in that position in the CFP rankings as well. If anything, not having to risk a second loss might be to their ultimate benefit.
