College Football Rankings 2016: Projected AP Top 25 after Week 13

Nebraska handed Wisconsin the Big Ten West title before the Badgers even took to the field on Thanksgiving weekend, as the Cornhuskers fell 40-10 at Iowa to decisively end their championship dreams. Mike Riley’s team was held to 217 total yards of offense, as Tommy Armstrong Jr. completed just 13 of his 35 passing attempts and the running game was held under 100 yards. The Blackshirt defense allowed two different 100-yard rushers for the Hawkeyes as Iowa controlled the line of scrimmage and the time of possession.
All the Huskers can do now is wait and see where they end up bowling. They should manage to cling to a spot in the AP Top 25 this week despite the loss, thanks to losses all over the country by teams in the bottom half of the poll. A 10-win season is still within reach, though Nebraska could also finish the year with a very Pelini-like 9-4 record if they lose their bowl game. After last season’s downturn, the Cornhuskers appear to be back on the upswing,
