Louisville limped its way through the end of its season, falling to Houston and Kentucky after finishing up its ACC schedule to close out the year on a two-game losing streak. Lamar Jackson still matches up favorably against past Heisman winners and will probably claim the school’s first stiffarm trophy next week. But the late-season swoon could spell the difference between playing in a New Year’s Six bowl and moving further down the ACC bowl pecking order.

The Cardinals currently sit behind Florida State — a team that they beat by 43 points in September — in the College Football Playoff Top 25. With Clemson headed to the semifinals, the ACC will decide who gets its Orange Bowl berth based on the CFP rankings. Losing to the Cougars and the Wildcats provided the opening for the Seminoles to leapfrog Bobby Petrino’s team last week, and FSU will probably stay ahead with the new release on Sunday.

PROJECTED BOWL DESTINATION: Russell Athletic Bowl (December 28)
