10 Breakout players for the 2017 season
7. RB Bryce Love, Stanford
With Christian McCaffrey sitting out the Stanford Cardinal’ bowl game against North Carolina, we’ll get a good look at sophomore running back Bryce Love. Love is third in the Pac-12 this season with 7.4 yards per carry. On the year, he’s carried the ball 90 times for 664 yards and two touchdowns.
Love has ran the ball for over 100 rushing yards twice this season. In the team’s final game of the season, he ran the ball seven times for 111 yards and a touchdown. He’ll be a nice change of pace to what McCaffrey has done in his time at Stanford the past three seasons. They’ll still be a run-heavy team as well. This season, McCaffrey led the Pac-12 in rushing attempts with 252 and rushing yards with 1,596. Love will have big shoes to fill but it helped he played backup to McCaffrey the past two seasons.
