6. RB Derrius Guice, LSU

Sophomore running back Derrius Guice had quite the season despite backing up Leonard Fournette. With Fournette battling an ankle injury for much of the season, Guice ran for 1,249 yards and 14 touchdowns in 11 games. With Fournette sitting out the Citrus Bowl and leaving for the NFL, Guice’s ceiling for improvement rises.

Guice had a career-high 37 carries for 285 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the Tigers’ 54-39 season finale over Texas A&M. He rushed for over 200 rushing yards twice and over 100 rushing yards three other times this season.

Guice started the last five games for the LSU Tigers this season. He is averaging 113.5 rushing yards per game and eight yards per carry. He leads the SEC in rushing touchdowns and is second in the conference in rushing yards. Look for him to have a strong 2017 season.
