We’ve already talked about how deep this class is at cornerback, which is why we’re going to talk about more than one prospect at the position. I have five or six cornerbacks right now with a first-round grade on my big board, but there’s a chance for another to slip into that discussion with West Virginia’s Rasul Douglas after the Senior Bowl.

Douglas was the definition of a ball hawk last season for the Mountaineers. His eight interceptions in 13 games were tied with Florida State’s Tarvarus McFadden for the most in the FBS, with Douglas also adding another eight passes broken up.

It’s easy to spot Douglas on the outside thanks to his impressive 6-foot-2, 204-pound frame, which is ideal for an NFL cornerback. Douglas still moves extremely well despite that larger frame, and that speed combined with his ability to read quarterbacks’ eyes makes it easy for him to jump in front of passes to make a play.

With so many of the bigger names at cornerback not at the Senior Bowl, Douglas will have a real opportunity to stand out this week. If he can do just that, then the former Mountaineers corner will have a very real chance at belonging in the discussion as a first-round pick.
