2. Shaun Wade, CB

Shaun Wade is one of two five-star cornerbacks to enroll early with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Wade ranks 17th in the nation, second by position, and fourth in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports. He chose the Buckeyes over Alabama and Virginia Tech, strengthening a secondary in need of depth.

Wade had 63 tackles (42 assisted, 21 solo), seven interception, nine pass breakups and three defensive touchdowns in his senior season at Trinity Christian Academy. He’s a ballhawk that will bring back memories of former Ohio State cornerback Eli Apple, now with the New York Giants.

The Jacksonville native won the USA Today Defensive Player of the Year award for his performance on the football field. Enrolling early allows the 6-foot-1, 177-pound prospect to get acclimated to the speed and conditioning of the college game. He’ll look to challenge for a starting spot amongst fellow five-star cornerback Jeffrey Okudah among others.
