1. Kendall Sheffield, CB

As a junior college transfer, cornerback Kendall Sheffield brings a totally different dynamic to the fold. He was at Alabama before signing to play at Blinn College in 2016. With experience under his belt, Sheffield can look to challenge for playing time as a junior entering the 2017 season.

Sheffield comes out of Blinn College as the third rank JUCO prospect nationally, first at his position and second in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports. He signed with the Buckeyes over Texas A&M, giving Ohio State another conference victory in the recruiting battles.

The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect will enroll at Ohio State in March, just in time for spring ball. He highlights a growing need for another playermaker on the defensive side of the ball. Not to mention, after the season Michigan safety JaBrill Peppers had, the Buckeyes certainly need to strengthen their defense likeso.

Sheffield will compete with five-star prospects Jeffrey Okudah and Shaun Wade for the starting corner role opposite junior Denzel Ward.
