College football weekly news bites, Post-Oscars edition
No, this post will have nothing to do with the Academy Awards. But I will do my own college-football-themed edition here.
Most awkward dance ever: And the award goes to University of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh. I know the dude is tall and gangly, but you’d think he would have had some practice dancing with his own wife. Regardless, it was for a good cause. Harbaugh and his wife served as judges for a student fundraiser and paused the show for a moment to cut a rug to Sinatra. Got to give Coach Harbaugh credit for being unafraid to look like a doofus in public. You can watch the video below.
Biggest crybaby: And the award goes to Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy. After news came out about the deluge of NCAA violations on Ole Miss, Gundy basically tried to add cheating to the list. In a statement for Tulsa World OSU sports, “We’ll never know what we could have done in the Sugar Bowl if it was a level playing field. That is the truth. I’m not sure we would have won the Sugar Bowl, but we’ll never know…we didn’t all play by the same rules.” I agree that the Mississippi squad has some unresolved issues, but being bad at football was never one of them.

Strongest noncommital: And the award goes to Florida native and (possible) Louisiana State recruit Nadab Joseph. In a tweet to ESPN’s Derek Tyson, Joseph claimed that he was 82 percent committed to the Tigers. Does that mean he is 18 percent committed to Georgia? Hey, at least the kid knows math.

Enough with me being a smartypants.
On a sadder note, I reported last week that Clemson athletics staffer Bert Henderson was found dead on his property. According to FoxCarolina, it seems that Henderson took his own life. All sympathies to Henderson’s family and to the Clemson staff.
