7. TE Bucky Hodges, Virginia Tech

Bucky Hodges is a tight end prospect out of Virginia Tech with a lot of potential at the next level. He was used at Virginia Tech in a variety of ways and he showed he’s a playmaker. He enters his name early into the NFL Draft after three seasons in Blacksburg.

Hodges caught 48 passes for 691 receiving yards and seven touchdowns last season. Production went up by the year for Hodges, this past season he tied with teammate Isaiah Ford for most receiving touchdowns. His 48 receptions and 691 receiving yards were both career-highs. He caught at least one pass in every game last season as well.

Against the Pittsburgh Panthers, he caught six passes for 145 receiving yards. He didn’t have any touchdown catches in the game but he set the tone for the game. The Hokies won 39-36 in the end.

There’s a very low likelihood teams will view Hodges at the tight end position. He could transition to a wide receiver in the NFL. But all of that depends on his speed in the the 40-yard dash.
