Running back Derrius Guice became a household name for the LSU Tigers by season’s end last year. Not to discredit running back Leonard Fournette, but Guice showed the Tigers will be just fine without Fournette in the backfield in 2017.

Guice ran for 1,387 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns for the LSU Tigers in 2016. He rushed for over 250 yards twice last season, the first player in school history to do so. He ran for 252 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 21 carries against Arkansas and 285 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns on 37 carries against Texas A&M.

Guice exploded onto the scene when given the nod to start in numerous games for LSU last season. He ran for over 100 rushing yards in six of 13 games last season for the Tigers. His 7.6 yards per carry ranked first in the SEC as well.

In 2017, look for Guice to turn a corner and possibly rush for over 2,000 yards.
