SEC Football: Top 10 players to watch this spring
Running back Bo Scarbrough will be limited this spring as he battles a leg injury, but that shouldn’t slow his production in the fall.
Scarbrough ran for 812 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 2016. He didn’t have a strong start to the season, but he finished the Crimson Tide’s final four games of the season very strong. He ran the ball 46 times for 454 rushing yards and six touchdowns, which bodes well for the balanced Crimson Tide offense.
Scarbrough was awarded the Most Outstanding Player of the College Football Playoff Semifinal after rushing 19 times for 180 yards and two touchdowns against the Washington Huskies. The Huskies defense allowed just 133.9 rushing yards in 2016, but that didn’t slow down Scarbrough much.
If he’s given the nod at starter this fall, look for his production to explode as well. The Crimson Tide will be loaded on offense again next season so Scarbrough is a good safety blanket to have out of the backfield.
