4. Which quarterback will finish on top of the NFL prospect list?

The 2017 college football season could very easily be dubbed “The Year of the Quarterback.” Senior quarterbacks like Baker Mayfield, J.T. Barrett and Mason Rudolph lead a rather long list of signal callers expected to make the jump to the NFL Draft after this season.

The USC Trojans should turn some heads with Sam Darnold under center. Darnold threw for 3,086 passing yards and 31 touchdowns for the Trojans last season. They finished with a 10-3 record and should be a whole lot better in 2017.

Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen is another quarterback receiving high praise from NFL scouts. Allen threw for 3,203 passing yards and 28 touchdowns but his 15 interceptions were first in the Mountain West Conference. He’ll need to limit his turnovers next year to impress scouts.

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen looks to break out of his sophomore slump as well. His 2016 season was cut short due to a shoulder injury and the Bruins went 4-8. The defense will need to be retooled but the offense returns nine starters, making for an interesting 2017 season.

This year’s quarterback class is stronger than usual and it should show itself this college football season. Other quarterbacks to look out for: 2016 Heisman winner Lamar Jackson, who should be a much better passer in 2017.
