Tide running back Bo Scarbrough had the breakout season that most college football fans expected in 2016. However, injury and limited carries put a cap on the total production that Scarbrough was allowed last year.

Scarbrough totaled 834 yards on the ground and 11 touchdowns last season. The most encouraging sign was his yards per carry at 6.5. That shows he has the ability to rack up the yards necessary to win the Heisman Trophy if his stamina can hold up along with getting the proper number of carries.

Fellow Alabama running back Damien Harris got more work than Scarbrough last season. Harris is generally a better pass catcher and a more versatile running back. That puts some strain on the potential production that Scarbrough will compile once again in 2017.

Something just feels right about an Alabama running back being on this type of list. Considering the only two running backs to win the Heisman in the last decade were from Alabama, that also provides encouraging news for Scarbrough.
