Ole Miss Football: 10 best players during the Hugh Feeze era
This might be the boldest selection on the list. The list is a ranking of the 10 best players, and while Patterson’s career has yet to unfold, he is absolutely one of the top three most talented players that he coached. Patterson threw for 880 yards and six touchdowns in three games last season. He’s expected to be the player that Ole Miss builds around for the foreseeable future.
If nothing else, at least Freeze left the Rebels with an extremely talented young quarterback that could bring Ole Miss back to prominence. Yet, some bad news for the Rebels came about recently with the announcement that the USC Trojans are targeting Patterson for transfer, according to 247Sports.
The Trojans would presumably want Patterson to take the reigns on offense after superstar quarterback Sam Darnold leaves for the 2018 NFL Draft.
