‘Last Chance U’ star Brittany Wagner hired by Michigan high school

If you’re a big fan of Netflix’s ‘Last Chance U’ documentary, you’ll be pleased to know counselor Brittany Wagner found herself a new job.

If you’ve been keeping up with the rest of college football fans this offseason, you’ve probably already seen the entirety of ‘Last Chance U’ Season 2.

Not familiar with the show? Well, it’s a Netflix documentary that follows JUCO powerhouse East Mississippi Community College and head coach Buddy Stephens. It’s a controversial situation in Scooba, Miss., because the program is known for taking in kids who have been dismissed from major FBS programs.

Hence, the name “Last Chance U” because this is truly these kids’ last chance to earn scholarships and make it back to the FBS level.

The show features the football team, but also one major star is counselor Brittany Wagner. To those who have watched the show, you know how important she is when it comes to getting the players to live up to their academic potential. She genuinely cares about everyone she comes into contact with, which makes her a favorite.

If you haven’t seen the second season yet, I’m about to give away some spoilers, so if you don’t want anything given away, you might want to look elsewhere for a second.

SPOILER ALERT

At the end of Season 2, Wagner decided that her relationship with Stephens and the culture at East Mississippi wasn’t what she wanted to continue working with, so she left her job as the program’s academic advisor.

Just this past week, The Detroit News reported that Wagner had been hired as an academic consultant at Madison Heights Madison High School in Michigan.

Unfortunately, if there’s going to be a Season 3, there will be no Wagner present. No surprise reunion between the players, Stephens and Wagner.
