Ole Miss Football: Projected 2-deep depth chart for 2017
Offensive Line
Starting tackles: Greg Little (LT), Alex Givens (RT)
Backups: Rod Taylor (LT), Royce Newman (RT)
Greg Little is the centerpiece of the Ole Miss offensive line. He gained experience last year as a true freshman and will now be counted on to protect the blindside of quarterback Shea Patterson full time. Little has all the tools to be one of if not the top offensive tackle in not only the SEC but the country as well.
Alex Givens played as a redshirt freshman in 2016 in every game, including five starts. He’s a solid right tackle and will help stabilize the line from the experience he earned last season.
Starting center: Sean Rawlings
Backup: Eli Johnson
Sean Rawlings has played all along the offensive line in his career at Ole Miss. Center seems to be the best position that suites him. Although he can slide to guard if needed, as well as right tackle. Rawlings will have to work to keep his job as redshirt freshman Eli Johnson is a solid player and will see time in the rotation. Matt Luke likes to rotate lineman so that they stay fresh so expect Johnson to get plenty of playing time.
Starting guards: Javon Patterson (LG), Jordan Sims (RG)
Backups: Jack DeFoor (LG), Davonte Bouldin (RG)
With Javon Patterson and Jordan Sims, we round out what should be a very solid and experienced offensive line. Patterson is as good as they come at left guard and Sims is perhaps just as good. With the talent on the offensive line, there’s no reason Ole Miss shouldn’t be putting up points in every game.
