Quarterback

Starting quarterback: Shea Patterson
Backup: Jordan Ta’amu

Without a doubt, this is Shea Patterson’s team. Patterson had flashes of brilliance when he was thrown in the fire due to Chad Kelly’s season ending ACL injury. He was impressive against Texas A&M. You could see why he was the top rated quarterback out of high school.

Patterson will be what makes this team go and for the offense, the sky is the limit. Patterson has the arm talent, he is an excellent student of the game. And if all else fails, he’s got some wheels and can run when needed. He has all the weapons he could possibly need at wide receiver and a steady stable of backs to rely on running the ball. If you’re an Ole Miss fan, you better be excited to see what Patterson can do in a full season. He should be nothing short of impressive.

Jordan Ta’amu is a junior college transfer and should be a capable backup with former backup Jason Pellerin moving to tight end. Ta’amu was very impressive in the spring game.
