The combination of the injuries Malik Zaire sustained at Notre Dame and the disappointment thus far in his college career should make every fan realize the doubt surrounding his 2017 season. Zaire is expected to win the starting job to lead the Gator offense. But how long will that last before something goes wrong?

Not only does Florida have a problem with finding a consistent quarterback, Zaire fits the bill of QBs who have not been successful with the Gators. Freshman Feleipe Franks has looked good throughout the offseason and deserves his shot at the starting job. A few bad games would cost Zaire his last chance at igniting his career and getting a shot to play in the NFL.

Florida has all the skill players necessary to make a quarterback’s life very easy. Yet, that never seems to be the status quo in Gainesville. Another SEC East Championship would likely mean the defense led the way for the Gators once again.
