Georgia Football: 5 reasons why the Dawgs will stink in 2017
2. Jacob Eason’s inexperience
Eason was the no. 1 recruit at quarterback in the 2015 class. He got his first chance to shine in the spotlight with Georgia last season and put up respectable numbers. Eason totaled 2,430 passing yards and 17 total touchdowns with only eight interceptions.
In the Liberty Bowl against the TCU Horned Frogs at the end of last season, Eason threw for more than 150 yards and two touchdowns without turning the ball over. Georgia ended up defeating TCU 31-23, giving Eason what could be a big confidence boost entering 2017.
Along with Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson, Eason is one of the brightest young quarterbacks not only in the SEC, but in the entire country. Living up to that billing is the tough part for him. He has the weight of a huge fan bases’ expectations on his shoulders. Georgia also has the talent around him to make something happen.
The unknowns with Eason are plenty which gives many experts doubts concerning the success he will ultimately have in 2017.
