College Football: Buy or sell top 25 teams as National Title contenders

The Utah Utes have become a consistent, under the radar, power in the Pac-12. They have not won any conference championships, but they seem to topple a few of the traditional powers every single year.

Utah went 9-4 (5-4 Pac-12) last season, with losses in conference to the Washington Huskies, Oregon Ducks, Colorado Buffaloes and California Golden Bears. The Utes always seem to get close to national contention but never quite reaching the level necessary to be in a real position to make the Playoff.

One of the most underrated quarterbacks in the country, senior Troy Williams returns to lead the Utah offense. However, Utah does lose star running back Joe Williams, who departed for the NFL after a tremendous final season with the Utes. Troy Williams notched 20 total touchdowns and has the potential to reach 25 or 30 total touchdowns in 2017.

The biggest question for the Utes is whether they can compete with the top teams in the conference this year. USC, Colorado, Washington, Washington State, Oregon and Stanford are all very skilled opponents that will give Utah all they can take this year. Even BYU promises to be a tough out.
