Secondary

Starting cornerbacks: Ryan Pulley, Henre’ Tolliver
Backups: Kevin Richardson II, Britto Tutt

Returning two top upperclassmen cornerbacks is a privilege afforded to very few teams. Arkansas is one of those teams this season. The junior, Pulley, was the best of the bunch in 2016 with a team-high 13 pass break-ups, but Henre’ Tolliver, a senior, should shine alongside him with the starting role to himself.

There’s talent throughout the depth chart: Richardson was a starter in 2016 before an injury sidelined him for the season, and Tutt has vaulted into the two-deep after a strong spring. Keep an eye out for true freshmen Chevin Calloway and Kamren Curl, either one of whom could earn early playing time.

Starting safeties: Josh Liddell, De’Andre Coley
Backups: Santos Ramirez, Reid Miller

The Hogs have an embarrassment of riches at safety. This unit is one of the best on the team, stacked with so much experience that senior and defensive leader Josh Liddell’s starting spot in still in jeopardy. We’ll give Liddell the edge due to his experience, but if someone hops him on the depth chart, it’ll almost certainly be junior Santos Ramirez. Between the two upperclassmen and senior De’Andre Coley, we’ll likely be seeing all three Hogs this season, especially in nickel and dime sets.
