Michigan Football: 5 reasons why Jim Harbaugh is overrated

4. Creating a basketball-based culture at Michigan

There aren’t many pictures of Harbaugh with his mouth closed (go figure), but the one above is a perfect shot of his sweater. Do you see that guy on his chest leaping and looking to dunk a round ball? Yeah, that’s Michael Jordan, the basketball player. Dunking a basketball.

This re-branding from Nike to Jordan happened in 2015, making Michigan the first of its kind on the gridiron.

But Jordan played basketball?

Exactly. I’m still not sure if this is a plug for the basketball team, or a shot at the football program. After all, John Beilein’s coached the Wolverines to 23 or more wins five of the last six seasons on the court. Can you imagine if Ohio State put the Jumpman on their uniforms, though?

Nothing says, “We’re a football school,” more than putting a basketball player on the football uniforms.
