There should be a new energy at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in 2017. With first-year head coach Tom Herman coming over from the University of Houston, Texas Longhorns fans believe this is the year that Texas will be back. However, they seem to believe that every year now.

All jokes aside, Texas is a special place to tailgate. There are very few schools that have larger crowds that gather in one spot for pregame events. Concerts, cookouts, and food trucks are all commonly seen outside DKR.

Getting some Texas barbecue and hearing some country music is a genuine Austin experience and gets you ready for a special gameday in the stadium. Even with the Horns experiencing a down time with the program, tailgates have not slipped up at all.
