Quarterback Wyatt Roberts was one of the stars of Season 1 of Last Chance U in some of the earlier episodes. Roberts split time with now Auburn wide receiver John Franklin III early in the 2015 campaign, but ultimately said he would not play any more football after he departed Scooba.

Roberts was shown saying in Season 1 that he wanted to just be a “regular student” during his time in Starkville at Mississippi State. However, Roberts did take an opportunity to walk on to the Mississippi State football team in 2016. According to Mississippi State 247Sports, Roberts’ father was quoted last year saying that the opportunity to walk onto the MSU football team was a dream.

While Roberts might never get playing time with the Bulldogs, he’ll at least get the chance to play on a Power Five team that could find some success in the SEC in 2017. He’ll also get to watch star quarterback Nick Fitzgerald possibly put together a Heisman campaign this season.
