The Auburn Tigers hoped that quarterback John Franklin III could provide some of the answers they were looking for on offense. However, he did not even end up winning the starting job as Sean White was the starter for most of the 2016 season.

On only 26 attempts, Franklin III competed 14 passes for 204 yards and one touchdown. Franklin III also rushed for 430 yards and two touchdowns. The dual threat ability was surely shown in 2016 and provides Auburn will a valuable weapon moving forward.

Franklin III understands where he provides the most value to the Auburn offense and embraces his role as wide receiver now, according to AL.com.
