The last time these two teams met was the game in which then Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt would be fired after, back in 2011. Ole Miss and Kentucky rarely play so this should be an interesting matchup. Mostly just because fans hardly ever get to seem play on the gridiron.

Kentucky should be a pretty good team in 2017. They have a lot of momentum carrying over into the season after the upset rival Louisville and going to their first bowl game since 2011. Ole Miss should have the upper hand in this matchup. They have better talent than Kentucky overall. Not to mention a much more stable offense.

Yet, one can’t really rule Kentucky out of this. Especially after seeing what they did to Heisman trophy winner Lamar Jackson and Louisville. That game alone proved that the Wildcats could stop a high powered offense. The Rebels will most likely be looking for a much needed win after a loss to Arkansas. They cannot let their guard down against Kentucky.

Part of me wants to say that this is a game to Ole Miss loses but I just don’t see it. Ole Miss has way to much talent and if they want to achieve their goal of keeping other teams from getting to a bowl game, then they have to win games against the Kentucky’s of the world. The Rebel defense has to step up and not let Kentucky hang around in this game. The longer that happens, the more of a threat they become.

Final: Ole Miss 45, Kentucky 24 (6-3, 4-3 SEC)
