Georgia Football: Game-by-game predictions for 2017
The nadir of Georgia’s season in 2016 was undoubtedly a home loss to a offensively punchless Vanderbilt squad. The Commodores are scrappy and well-coached, and won up riding the upset win to a surprise bowl game last season.
I think it’s safe to say that the Bulldogs won’t have forgotten. This game is in Nashville, but it won’t matter. Vandy controlled the clock and won the field position battle in last year’s game; expect Smart and the Bulldogs to counter that by giving the Commodores a taste of their own medicine.

Georgia will feed Chubb to start the game and dare Vanderbilt to stop it. On the other side of the ball, they’ll dial up the pressure and try to force turnover-prone Vanderbilt quarterback Kyle Shurmur into a mistake or two.
Both strategies should work. We’ll say that after a slow start, the Dawgs break this one open with a long touchdown pass from Eason to Terry Godwin, and never look back. Georgia continues its revenge tour in 2017.
