1. A healthier offensive line will keep the Ducks on track in 2017

Oregon has not had the best of health luck when it comes to its offensive line. Ducks left tackle Tyrell Crosby is healthy and back for his senior season after an injury-plagued 2016. Crosby only played in two games last year due to a left foot injury sustained against Nebraska. Having started in 23 games as a Duck, Crosby is the anchor of a young but talented offensive line.

Mario Cristobal, the former head coach at Florida International from 2007 to 2012, is the co-offensive coordinator in charge of the offensive line and running game. The former Miami Hurricanes tackle is a master at developing offensive lines. Cristobal was Alabama’s offensive line coach for the past four seasons.

At the right tackle spot, redshirt sophomore Calvin Throckmorton started all 12 games last season. He will take over as the other bookend of the line once again. Under Cristobal’s tutelage, should be even better after getting a year of experience under his belt.

In between the tackles, two more redshirt sophomores could continue to develop as key parts of a strong unit. Center Jake Hanson and left guard Shane Lemieux joined Throckmorton as full-time starters during their freshman season. The right guard spot is the biggest question mark. At least Cristobal can turn to one of two redshirt seniors, Doug Brenner or Jake Pisarcik, to answer that riddle.
